Katherine E. Buhlinger

Katherine Buhlinger, 89, of Newton passed away 20 April, 2016. Katherine was born in Kimball, WV and lived in Byram Township, NJ for 58 years before moving to Newton 2 years ago. Katherine was an administrative assistant at Picatinny Arsenal before retiring. She loved her slot machines, cruises, the beach, her many dear friends, and most of all her family. Her beloved husband of 63 years, John Buhlinger, preceded her in death. Katherine was a devoted mother of Christine Buhlinger and her husband Glenn Hunger; John Buhlinger and his wife Genevieve; Thomas Buhlinger and his fiancé Helen McLaughlin; and Lisa Buhlinger and her husband Steve Stengel. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Kelly Bain and her husband Clark, Brian Buhlinger, Devon Buhlinger, Thomas Buhlinger, Rebeccah Bailey, Megan Stengel and her husband Tony, Kyle Stengel and as well as her great-granddaughter Avery Bain. Friends may call Saturday 14 May, 2016 from 10am-1pm at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. A memorial service will take place at 12:30pm Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate donations sent to: Bristol Glen Assisted Living, United Methodist Community Foundation, 200 Bristol Glen Drive, Newton, NJ 07860. Checks can be made out to “UM Community Foundation” designated in her honor. Our mother spent the last 2 years of her life there where she received excellent care and was loved.
