

Sparta- Kathleen M. Levicky (Flynne) went home to the Lord on December 8, 2010 at her home, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Jersey City to Harry T. and Margaret M. Flynne (Farrel) and resided in Sparta since 1992, formerly of Clifton, NJ.
Mrs. Levicky was a communicant of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha RC Church in Sparta, a Eucharistic Minister, a confirmation educator, and a founding member of the prayer shawl group. She received the bronze pelican award in the 1980’s from Bishop Rodimer for her excellence in religious leadership.
Kathleen was active in scouting for many years being active with the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She reached the highest leadership rank in scouting as a leader. She was also instrumental in founding the Clifton recycling program in the 80’s. She loved knitting and quilting and was involved in several groups, as well as being a homemaker.
Kathleen is survived by her loving spouse of 39 years, Allen Levicky. Three son’s: Brian of Sparta, Thomas and his wife Amy of Clifton, and Steven and his wife Arianna of Hawthorne, a granddaughter; Lucy Rose, two sisters; Barbara Kraft, and Nancy Flynne, and two brothers; James and David Flynne.
Family and friends are invited from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, Monday, December 13, 2010,and Tuesday 9-10 am at Blessed Kateri RC Church, Sparta. A 10:30 am funeral liturgy will be held at the church Tuesday. Arrangements are being handled by Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871. Memorial donations in her name are being accepted to the American Lung Association of NJ 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083.
