Laura was born in Bradford, Pa to Leon and Janet (Gardner) Harris. She resided in Newton for the past three years, and previously resided in Sparta since 1988. Prior to this, Laura had lived in Hornell, NY for 44 years. While in Sparta she was a congregant of The Sparta United Methodist Church, and frequently volunteered in the Church “mouse” thrift shop. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph La France in 2001 and sister Lucy Sutton. Surviving her are two daughters; Mary Jo Sanchez and Jean Catherine La France and husband Bud Larson, and a niece: Sheila Schaal. Family and friends are invited, Monday evening 7-9 pm to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A 3pm funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday at Sparta United Methodist Church, Sparta.
