

Milton Cray Huber died peacefully at his residence on March 12, 2012 with his loving family by his side. He was 87. Milton was born in Mount Vernon, NY to Milton T. and Josephine (Cray) Huber. He resided in Vernon, NJ for the last eight years, previously from Ridgefield, NJ. Milton earned his Bachelors’ of Science degree in criminology from Iona College in 1978. He retired as Deputy Chief of Police from the Ridgefield Police Department in 1980 after 28 years of service. Following retirement, he became Director of the Office of Emergency Management for Ridgefield. He held memberships in the Ridgefield PBA, and was a life member of VFW Post 7502. Milton was a founding member of the East Bergen Detectives Group. He fought in WWII in Europe as a Sgt. in the US Army, and later in the Air Force Reserve. He loved golf, photography, painting, and music, but was deeply committed to spending time with his four grandchildren whom were his greatest joy. Milton is predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Huber. He is survived by two daughters, Wendy Povinelli of Ogdensburg, and Janet Watts and husband Tom of Hamburg. Four Grandchildren: Meredith and Lauren Watts; Elizabeth Povinelli, and Thomas Povinelli and his wife Christine; devoted companion, Josephine Sargent; his beloved dog Eddie, along with many nieces and nephews.
