Nancy J. Weiss was called home to our lord on June 13, 2020. She was born June 4, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to Victor and Mary Kucharnick. She was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. Nancy was a Native New Yorker most of her life. She graduated F.I.T. majoring in interior design and fine arts in 1961. She received her BA at Jersey City University in 1991 majoring in social work and counseling in the field of addictions and psychiatry. She was accepted to (N.Y.U.) in 1995 where she completed her Master’s in Art Therapy. Nancy worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, NY as a Social Worker.
Nancy enjoyed the simple things in life. She especially loved working with stain glass. All her pieces are from her sketches and she would enlarge them to work in glass. One of her designs was made into a stain glass window, which was a true work of art at the Unity Church in Lafatyette, NJ. She made long lasting friendships in both her personal and professional life. Nancy loved the beach finding solace among the waves.
She is predeceased by her parents Victor and Mary Kucharnick. She is survived by her daughter Tamara Teixeira and her husband John, her son Thomas Weiss, brother Kenneth Kirk and his wife Aurora. She also leaves behind her nephew, David Kirk.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor & kind and loving heart. Most will never forget her smile, and her willingness to always help. She will be greatly missed by many.

June 23, 2020
Dear Tamara (my little sis), Tex, Tommy and family,
I am truly heartbroken over Nancy's passing.
Nancy was a wonderfully kind person. She was so full of wisdom and knowledge. Nancy was always available to share her life's experience with those that needed her guidance. I was fortunate to have Nancy as a mentor and she did guide me with an "iron hand"! I will always be great full to her to bringing me back to the correct path of life.
Tamara, you have been a true inspiration with your love and fierce determination that afforded your mom the best possible care in her final years.
I have so many wonderful memories of Nancy, memories that I will always cherish.
All my love and sincerest sympathy,
