He was born on April 19, 1951 in Passaic, NJ, and grew up in Lodi, NJ. In 1988 he moved to Sparta, NJ with his wife, where they raised their two children. Phil worked at Federal Express for 38 years before retiring in 2016.
After graduating high school, Phil joined the United States Air Force. He spent many years volunteering his time as a firefighter in Lodi as well as coaching youth soccer in Sparta. Throughout his life he enjoyed riding motorcycles, competing in shooting competitions, hunting, and relaxing with a good book.
Phil is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Philip; daughter, Kayla; sister, Sharon Saunders; as well as a multitude of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Helen, and his brother, Frank. Memorial contributions may be made to RCCA Charities, Inc.
Visitation will be held at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ on Sunday, June 13th from 2pm – 6pm. Cremation will be held privately.
