Richard Joseph Dragos

Richard Joseph Dragos, 81, of Newton, NJ passed away at his residence on December 12, 2015. Richie was born in New York City and was a member of the US Marine Corp. He lived in Newark, West Orange, and Hopatcong before moving to Sparta 34 years ago, and recently moving to Newton. He retired after 35 years with Volkswagen Inc, the last 12 years as service manager and salesman at Trend Motors in Rockaway. Richie was an avid saltwater fisherman and a devoted family man. He was a past trustee for the Alpine Association part of Lake Mohawk. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Marilyn Bogart Dragos; devoted children: Richard Dragos, Michael (Patty) Dragos; Thomas (Lisa) Dragos; and Jill (Robert) Poles; brother of Martin (Sue) Dragos, Marcelene (Morty) Schlig, Tony Dragos, Raymond Dragos, and Stephen (Tisa) Dragos. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren: Jonathan, Kennedie, Olivia, Isabella, Giada, and Viviana. Friends may call Monday 4-8pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta, NJ. Emtombment will follow at Restland Memorial Park Mausoluem, E. Hanover, NJ.
