PETERS, Ruth C. died peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Newton, NJ. She was 96 years old. Ruth was born in Sparta to John and Hattie (Doerwald) Gunderman and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed as a payroll clerk for 37 years with Public Service, Electric & Gas in Newark, NJ until retiring in 1977. Ruth was a member of the Sparta United Methodist Church, loved to take scenic drives with her grandchildren and also spend time travelling. She is predeceased by her husband, Andrew Peters in 1986.
Surviving her, are two daughters; Nancy Peters McEntee and husband Donald of Madison, WI, and Ann Schaming and husband Philip of Wantage, NJ, and a son; Andrew Peters and his wife Maria of Lafayette, NJ., 13 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service, celebrated Friday, 11 AM at Sparta Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Goble Funeral Home, Sparta, NJ.
