

Thomas Campbell Hookway, 71, of Deer Park, New York passed away peacefully at his home on August 6, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Passaic, New Jersey and graduated from Madison High School. He made his home in several Morris County and Sussex County communities including Sparta, Montague, and Netcong before moving to Deer Park in 2008. He was a member of the Institute for Spiritual Development in Sparta, NJ. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed gunsmithing, and was a member of the Lake Hopatcong Rifle and Pistol Club and the National Rifle Association. Tom loved horses since he was a small child, riding in shows and even being involved in the rodeo. Tom and his wife, Dorinda, served for 4 years as a Host Home for Sussex County Juveniles in Need of Shelter and participated in the NJ Division of Youth and Family Services Teaching Family Program. He served as a volunteer with BARKS.
Tom retired several years ago from his occupation as a pool liner installation contractor and also worked in the HVAC and alarm system industries.
He was predeceased by his parents, Martha Campbell Hookway and William Charles Hookway, Jr., and Thomas Allan Glasgow.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife Dorinda (Elston) Hookway of Deer Park; his children, TJ of Oxford, Don of Flanders, Michael of Hopatcong, Chase of Budd Lake, and Morgan, Kayce, and Amber of Florida; his grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Ayden, Caleb and Taylor; his great-granddaughter Kaylee; his brothers, Will and his wife Debbie of Sparta, and Jeff and his wife Mary of Lafayette; and his first wife Genia Hookway of Budd Lake.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 18th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 19th at 10am at the funeral home followed by interment at The Andover Cemetery, County Route 613, Andover, NJ 07821.
