Tide Naklicki of Hamburg, NJ, age 66 years, was born on December 15, 1956, in Tokyo, Japan. After a tough battle with cancer, our dry-humored old man, passed away peacefully in his home on July 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Edmund and Itoe Naklicki. Tide is survived by his wife, Emelita Naklicki, and two daughters, Mary and Marsha Naklicki. He also leaves behind two grand-fur babies, Momo "Robert De Niro" and Pudding Piewacket.
Tide proudly served our country as an Army and Navy veteran. During his Naval years, he was ranked DP2. After completing his initial training, he was assigned to the U.S. Naval Base in Subic Bay, Phillippines where he met his wife Emelita. When he became a civilian, he pursued higher education. He attended Excelsior University graduating with his Master of Arts in Liberal Studies. He was a passionate mathematics teacher with a love for expanding his knowledge of the world around him.
As stated in one of his previous essays, Tide conveyed, “Teaching is the process of converting knowledge and experiences from one person to another. As a professional teacher, I found it necessary to promote learning using various teaching strategies to be a successful effective teacher. A friendly positive and nurturing attitude helps to create a bond with students breaking social and economic stereotypes and barriers which limit children from achieving their highest potential in school. I also feel an outstanding teacher must be able to address the current needs of society such as the need to create successful critical thinkers and successful problem solvers since there are no sure formulae on equations to solve every detail of life’s problems. Each person or student must eventually fulfill their own destiny as an adult and a member of contemporary American society.”
Later in his life, he pursued additional education by receiving his Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies at Sussex County Community College. He was also an adjunct professor at SCCC. He was a connoisseur of foods from all cultures. He loved to cook and feed his loved ones. Tide Naklicki was a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tide’s visitation will be held at Goble Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM at 22 Main St. located in Sparta, NJ. Donations can be made in honor of Tide, to his daughter Marsha
