William H. Hayes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, William Henry Hayes, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, who departed this life peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025.

William was the devoted husband of the late Barbara Hayes, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Hayes) Mitchell, and her husband Thomas Mitchell; and their children: William Mitchell, his wife Meghan Abdo Mitchell, and Hannah Mitchell. He was predeceased by his grandson, Matthew Mitchell, whose memory he held dearly in his heart.

He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey Hayes, and by Aliisa Hayes, mother of his grandchildren: Emily Hayes, Masha Hayes, and Ryan Hayes.

William is also mourned by his sister, Patricia Leeman, and his loyal dog and companion, Jack, who was always by his side.

His legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the strength of his children, and the love of the family he held so dear. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his steadfast tenacious nature, and the quiet ways he showed his love and pride.

A graveside service will be held to honor his life at 11AM on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Sparta Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a veterans’ organization or animal shelter of your choice in his memory.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
