William T. Whalen Jr.

William T. Whalen Jr, age 89 of Hamburg, NJ son of Rose and William Sr., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025 surrounded by family. Bill was born in Yorkville, NY where he resided throughout his early years.

A proud Marine, he served his country during the Korean War. Bill graduated from Pratt Institute and began a long and successful career in the elevator business. He ended his career as president of Republic Elevator. Always the handyman, friends and family called him first for their electrical and contracting needs.

Bill enjoyed spending time at Hills Pond in upstate New York, golfing at Crystal Springs and winters in Venice, Florida. Breakfast was his favorite meal which he enjoyed cooking for loved ones. He also had a passion for history, skiing, and traveling. His greatest joy was to be in the company of family and friends.

Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Linda (née Molinari), his sister Rosemary Friedel, children Kelly, Kimberly, Paul and granddaughter, Tuesday Whalen. He was predeceased by his brother James and cherished daughter Noelle DeLieto. Bill loved hearing about the many successes and experiences of the young people in his life- granddaughter, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and the Gang siblings.

Bill will be remembered as an impeccably dressed gentleman with a heart of gold; one classy guy. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Bill’s honor to Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Visitation for William will be held Sunday, June 29th from 2:00PM - 6:00PM at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St. Sparta, NJ 07871. Funeral mass will occur Monday, June 30th at 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 294 S Sparta Ave, Sparta, NJ 07871. Entombment will immediately follow at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Rd., Township of Washington, NJ 07676.
