Arthur E. Tinsley, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026.
Born on May 23, 1937, in Spokane, Washington, Arthur was the son of Gertrude (Ayers) Tinsley and Charles Tinsley. He grew up in Spokane, where he attended Lewis and Clark High School and served in the National Guard. In 1955, he fulfilled a dream by signing with the Baltimore Orioles, beginning a memorable chapter in his life through the game he loved.
Arthur went on to build a long and respected career in the trucking industry. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and the friendships he made throughout his career.
Arthur shared a loving marriage with his wife, Sue Tinsley, who preceded him in death. Following his retirement, they moved to Palm Springs, California, where they embraced the sunshine and enjoyed many happy days golfing with friends. Later, they returned to Spokane, where they spent their time surrounded by family and lifelong friends, creating treasured memories together.
Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue Tinsley; his son, Michael Tinsley; and his daughter, Susan (Tinsley) Rauer. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Daniel Tinsley, and his cherished grandchildren, Michael Tinsley, Michelle Tinsley, Jordyn Rauer, and Jackson Rauer.
Arthur will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his passion for baseball and golf, his unforgettable storytelling, his wonderful sense of humor, and the unmistakable laugh that could carry throughout a room. He had a gift for bringing people together, sharing stories that made everyone smile, and leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
His legacy lives on in the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the family he loved so dearly. He will be forever remembered.
