Barbara Ellen Wagoner, born on June 6, 1938 in Winthrop, WA passed away on June 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was a woman of strength, character, and above all, a huge caring heart.
Barbara led a diverse and interesting life that took her to many parts of the world. Born to Mary Northcott in Winthrop, WA she spent her youth in Methow Valley, where she met the love of her life, Warren (Red) Wagoner. They married in Twisp, WA on November 18, 1956 and moved to Spokane, WA in 1957. Together, they started their family of three boys. Barbara worked for various companies, including Prudential Distributor, Caterpillar, Early Dawn Dairy, Tupper Realty, and her dream job at People to People, Student Ambassador Program. Her travels took her to South Africa, India, China, Germany, Russia, and Hong Kong, where she influenced the lives of many young students and developed lifelong friendships.
Barbara was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Anyone who knew Barbara knew her love for gardening, evidenced by the maze of flowerpots throughout her yard. She loved camping with her family at places such as Sherman Pass, Yaak River, and Farragut State Park. Celebrating Thanksgiving with frog eye salad and Christmas with mimosas and cinnamon rolls were traditions that she looked forward to every year. Barbara loved watching her Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball team, it brought her much joy. Barbara never forgot her roots; she cherished visits to the Methow Valley to visit family and friends and will return to be laid to rest with her husband, Red, in Twisp, WA.
Barbara was preceded in death be her husband of 54 years, Red Wagoner; her mother, Mary Northcott; her brother, James Northcott; and her sister, Dawn Cockle. She is survived by her three sons, Randy (Patty), Rich (Valerie), and Stan; daughter-in-law, Jody; grandchildren, Breanne (Danielle), Jacob, Nicole, Gabrielle, and Paige; great grandchildren, Holden, Carver, Mavis; and brother John Northcott (Shari).
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sacred Heart Medical Center and the Hospice House of Spokane for their grace and loving care.
