On January 3, 2025, Billie Jo Farrell peacefully passed away as the result of the rare disease Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). At the time of her death, she was still a registered hypnotherapist, though she had retired. She dedicated 45 years of her life working as a medical transcriptionist for NWOS and was featured as one of the original carhops pictured on Spokane's "Top Hat Restaurant" postcard.
She is survived by her loving and caring daughters, Kristi Corte and Suzy Johnson; her brilliant granddaughter, Megan Johnson, who has recently resided in China and England; her brother, James Butler (Serene) of Oakland, CA; her nephew, Joe Butler (Eva) of Oakland CA; her niece, Tammy Boots (Dusty) and family of Polson, MT; and her dear friend, Fred Farrell.
She wishes love, peace, and happiness for all. “Written by Billie Jo Farrell”.
Our mother/grandmother was a hard worker who instilled in her family a strong work ethic and the importance of becoming capable and independent women. Despite having little, Billie Jo was a kind, caring, and giving woman who always sought to give to others. She loved to dance and have fun. She will forever be dearly missed.
