Carlton Craig Hall
November 12, 1941 – May 19, 2018
The Rev. C. Craig Hall passed away Saturday morning May 19th after a short but painful battle with cancer. He loved his God, his congregations, his family and saw the Spirit of God in all people. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania November 12, 1941 he spent his childhood in Springdale, moving as a teenager with his family to Southern California. Craig graduated from Garden Grove, High School, Sterling College, and Princeton Seminary. His first church was in McKeesport Pennsylvania. He returned to California in 1970 where he pastored at Knox Presbyterian in Pasadena, followed by 14 years at Shadow Hills Presbyterian in the foothills of the San Fernando Valley. In 1993 he and his wife Ann began a 12 year pastorate at Opportunity Presbyterian in the Spokane Valley of Washington State. He “retired” from OPC in 2006 but almost immediately went back to CA to Glendale Presbyterian Church. His final church pastorates were in Encino, CA and Kennewick Presbyterian in the Tri-Cities of Washington. His calling and passion was to preaching and working with congregations in crisis and transition.
In addition to his calling, Craig’s other passion was restoring 1950’s British Cars and was a member of car clubs both in the US and Great Britain. His most prized restorations were a 1930 wooden body MGM boat tail racer and a 1953 Jowett Jupiter. He and his wife traveled extensively. He also was a great reader and a member of SAG/AFTRA. He will be missed for many things as well as his sense of humor and willingness to help others.
Craig is survived by his wife Antonia C. Hall, his son Timothy Hall and daughter-in-law Patty Hall, two grandsons, Dan and Ryan Hall as well as a beloved brother James Hall.
A memorial Service will be held June 1st at Opportunity Presbyterian Church at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society and Hospice of Idaho.
