

Clementine “Clem” Barbara Kist, 94 of Liberty Lake, WA passed away February 25, 2017. She was born in Mandan, North Dakota on October 3, 1922 to Thomas and Gertrude (Rychlik) Kopp. She graduated from Mandan High School and married Elmer Kist in March of 1942.
Clem worked as a riveter during WWII helping to build planes for the war at Fairchild Air force Base. She started a career in retail at Kathleen’s in Dishman, she then went on to work at the Crescent in downtown Spokane. She then went on to work at the Bon Marche for over 20 years and she retired in 2002. After retiring, she became an active member of the St. Paschal’s Alter Society. She had a passion for cooking and continually kept up with the recipes from her German heritage.
She is survived by her two grandchildren; Susan Larsen of Des Moines, WA and Michael Larsen of Palm Springs, CA. Her brother, David (Tommie) Kopp of Spokane Valley; nieces, Shireen Vasque and Cara Kopp and nephew, Kevin (Rachel) Kopp and many great nieces and nephews. Clem was preceded in death by her Husband, Elmer; daughter, Pamela Larsen and her sister, Josephine Simpson.
There will be a Visitation, Tuesday, March 7th from 5 to 8pm at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 8th at 11:00 am at St Paschal Catholic Church, 7404 E Marietta Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99212. A Luncheon will follow the Funeral Mass at the church. A Graveside will follow luncheon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
