Hi Dad!

You have been on my heart so much lately. You tend to live in my notes app, it’s my way of talking to you. However, this platform feels more like I'm sending a message. I realize I sound silly, but we can let it slide this time. 

Im 20 now! I'm halfway through undergrad!! My majors are psychology and sociology. I want to be a therapist, but there will always be a part of me that wants to get into law. I doubt I will ever stop going to school, so we'll see what happens.

I have the best roommate, I love my job, and I met someone I think you would really like. He is wonderful. I also traveled to NEW YORK this year!.. like what ?! I thought of you the whole time we were there. I know the Yankees were your favorite. 

As I get older and experience new things, it makes me think about you. I wonder what you were doing at my age. I know you didn’t get the opportunity to do many things during your time here on Earth, and I wish you did. There are so many beautiful things to experience. I find myself grieving the life that you didn’t get to live. I promise to experience things for you. I promise to live for the both of us—passionately, fully, and well.

Being your daughter, Dad, was the most wonderful gift. Please know that although I miss you terribly, my heart is finally starting to heal. I hope you can see that I'm living my life to the fullest and I am the happiest that I have ever been. It took ten years, but I did it, I just wanted you to know. Sending so many hugs to heaven.. I love you more than beef jerky.

Hey Dad. 

You are incredibly dear to my heart, and I miss you so terribly. Chicks is now in paradise with you, and I know that you two are laughing together at everyone down here. Life has been wild, both lovely and difficult. I graduated high school! Additionally, Whitworth University offered me a full ride scholarship. A university, Dad! Can you believe it?!! I wish you could have been here to see it. I am getting to know your dad more, and I have even seen him a few times. He's grown to mean a lot to me and he reminds me of you. You two look alike to me, and you’re both smart asses.. I think it’s a Christensen thing. Speaking of Christensens, there is a brand-new Christensen in town. Zack's daughter, Miss Evalynn Hope Christensen. She is beautiful, Dad. A true blessing. She has our eyes. She's going to be blind, poor youngster. I hope she inherits her mother's nose. ANYWAYS. She is such a joy to behold and is an example of better things to come. I pray that you keep an eye out for her. 

I could go on forever, but I'll stop here. Dad, we adore and miss you so much. I never stop thinking about you. Watch over me, please. Here’s a picture that I know would make your heart happy. Me and your old man.

Unselfish, caring, out-spoken and the greatest friend a guy could ever ask of. The words spoken on Dustin's behalf today were perfect and it was relieving to pay our respects today. We all love you very much Dustin.

He is in a better place now & at peace.  I am so glad I was blessed with his friendship while he was here with us.....until we meet again. Rest in Peace my friend.
