Born on December 21, 1923 in McKenzie, North Dakota to Porter and Bertha McNeill. Edith Elaine Rains died on April 16, 2011. She was the youngest of seven children. She was happily married in 1948 to Richard Rains and enjoyed 34 wonderful years until his passing in 1982. She is survived by her sister, Fern (Nick) Scharff; her son, Richard (Denise) Rains; her daughter, Elaine (Tom) Lutyens; grandchildren, Helen, Jonathan, Rachel, Jenn, and Joe; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Emma, Jillian, Monica and Robbie. She was predeceased by one grandson, Joseph. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. You would find her on the golf course early spring to late fall. She also enjoyed reading, bowling, bird hunting with her husband, and volunteered at the county library for over 30 years. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, “grandma” crackers, and chocolate milkshakes. An informal graveside service will be held at Pines Cemetery on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00AM.
