Ernest (Ernie) Allen Foge passed away on March 10, 2015, after enjoying a life full of laughter, family, and friends. Born on November 21, 1938, in San Francisco to parents Harold and Mildred Foge, Ernie grew up in the parochial school system and served as an alter boy and later as a member of the US Coast Guard. When his work as an insurance adjustor brought him to Seattle, he met the love of his life, Helen. Together, they moved to Spokane and raised two sons, with Ernie acting as a constant presence in both their lives and many activities.
Ernie had an infectious laugh and an endearing personality that drew people in instantly. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a dear friend to many. His friendly demeanor and love of life will be greatly missed!
Ernie is survived by his wife, Helen, and their two sons, Brent Miller and Derrick Foge, as well as by two grandchildren, Amelia and Eliza. Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, March 21, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernie’s memory to the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research at www.fpwr.org.
