Helen’s mother traveled for work over much of Southern Wisconsin where Helen attended 22 country schools by 6th grade. Helen graduated from high school in Madison Wisconsin before rejoining with her sister and moving to Oshkosh, Wisconsin with their mother and then moved again when they ventured to Omak, Washington. Omak is where she met and married the love of her life Donald F McKinney September 15th, 1948. Work took them to Spokane, Washington where they settled down and made their forever home.
Helen and Don raised six children; two daughters, and four sons, and loved every aspect of family life. They were actively involved in school and scouting activities, camping in Troy, Montana and helping neighbors and community.
Helen and Don established a trucking company in 1955 and ran it together until Don Passed away in 1976. Helen continued running the business until 1985 as well as working full time as a PBX operator at Password Answering Service for over twenty years.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Don F. McKinney their son Ronald F McKinney and daughter Alice J Biswell. Helen was also preceded in death by her grandparents Carrol and Cora Aldrich, Pardeeville, Wisconsin, her mother Ethel Aldrich Burgess and sister Eva Culbert. She is survived by Larry L and Kim McKinney, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Ronald's beloved wife Janet Haneke McKinney, Curtis A McKinney, Addy Washington, Deborah A McKinney, Spokane Washington, Randall E McKinney, Wenatchee Washington, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
At Helen's request there will be no memorial service. The family requests any memorial contributions be sent to wounded warrior or your charity of choice.
