

Scientist and Chemistry Professor a loving Father, Husband, Son, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle. Passed away on June 7, 2023 at the age of 53 in Spokane Valley, Washington after a strong and courageous battle with cancer surrounded with his Loving family by his side who will honor and keep his memory alive. Jamie was born on April 17, 1970 in Sunnyside, Washington to James Lee Manson and Janis Lea Manson.
Jamie Lee Manson graduated from Central Valley High School in 1988. Jamie went to SFCC where he graduated with his AA degree. After Jamie got his AA degree he went to Eastern Washington University in 1991 to get his Bachelors of science and graduated with honors. Jamie Majored in Chemistry and got his minor in physics at Eastern. In the fall of 1994 he attended The University of Utah where he studied chemistry. In 1999 Jamie graduated from The University Of Utah with his PhD in Chemistry and would become Dr. Jamie Lee Manson. Dr. Manson did a Post Doc in Chicago Illinois at Argonne National Laboratory. He also did lots of research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. In 2003 Dr. Manson got a teaching position at Eastern Washington University where later he would become a famous and passionate researcher. His research consisted of growing crystals using different scientific methods. One of Dr. Manson’s methods was using coordination chemistry to bond different molecules together using inorganic compounds and metals and also using organic compounds. He also researched magnetism and how the crystals react with electrons. Dr. Jamie Manson achieved many goals and was awarded with many top honors. One of his awards and top honors he worked hard for was becoming a member of the American Physical Society (APS) only 0.5% of scientists and researchers are chosen to be a member. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS)
Jamie Lee Manson is survived by his loving wife Tammie Manson and his 2 sons Joshua Manson and Zachary Manson along with 3 grandchildren River Manson, Knox Manson and Taytum Manson. His parents James Manson and Janis Manson his half sister Kim Davis and his brother Joseph Manson. His Nieces Zanie Edouard, Sharelle Scott, Katie Davis and Kjerstin Manson. His Nephews Dj Scott, Robbie Davis, Brandon Manson and James Manson. Several great nieces and nephews and numerous aunts and uncles. His in-laws Bill and Mary Grafmiller and sister in law Tracie Pope.
Jamie Lee Manson had many hobbies he enjoyed. From Aviation to traveling with family. He enjoyed playing basketball with anyone who would play. He got great pleasure in coming up with nicknames for family members. He was also a big fan of Formula1 Racing. One of his favorite places to travel to was the Oregon and Washington Coast with his family. Jamie loved to slalom ski and go boating at Lyons Ferry with his brother Joseph and his cousin Todd.
Dr. Jamie Lee Mansons memorial service will be held at Eastern Washington University campus in the Hargreaves Building 526 5th St., Cheney, Wa 99004 on June 24, 2023. The service will start at 11:00am.
