Beloved mother, aunt, and friend Janice "Jan" Bosquette passed peacefully at home on June 10, 2023. She is survived by her son, Gary, and nieces Celeste, Pearl, and Wuzzy. Jan's vibrance and kindness will never be forgotten. Janice was born on January 30, 1936, in Mason City, WA, to Pearl Ardis and Russell Simard. She attended Riverside High School in Chattaroy, WA. After graduation, she embarked on a fulfilling career at the Pacific Northwest Bell phone company in Spokane, where she dedicated 32 years of service. Jan's heart was also intertwined with the local horse enthusiast community, leaving behind a grieving network of fellow horse lovers. She and her husband Jerry, a skilled horse trainer, spent numerous years working at Playfair Race Track. Janice was a devoted advocate for the preservation of horseracing in eastern Washington, investing much of her time and energy to this cause. Beyond her dedication to horseracing, Jan's true loves were family, friends, and all types of horses. She took great joy in gardening and nurturing various flowers, with a particular fondness for roses. Traveling and spending cherished moments with loved ones were also sources of immense happiness for her. Janice will be remembered as an exceptional horsewoman, a true lady, and "the sweetest, kindest person who never said an unkind word," embodying qualities that touched the lives of all who knew her. Janice is now reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband Jerry, brother Ronald, sister Jerine, and two cherished dogs named Luther and Nate. A Celebration of Life will be held for Jan at Darcy’s Restaurant in the Spokane Valley at 1 PM on July 22, 2023.
