

Joseph H. Flores Jr. was born July 2, 1955, and passed away on December 19, 2022. He is survived by his wife Denise Kirby, sister Cindy Hutchinson, brothers Fred Flores and Rick Powell, son Antonio Flores, daughter Maria Berryman, son Richard Colvin, stepsons Robert Nolen and JayDe Edlund. He has four grandsons, seven granddaughters, and one great granddaughter. He has a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Joseph H. Flores Sr, his mother Margaret Agripino, and his sister Terry Gross.
His family settled in Spokane, WA when his father retired from the United States Air Force while stationed at Fairchild Airforce Base.
After graduating from Lewis and Clark High School in 1973, he joined the United States Navy where he served from 1973 until 1976 during the Vietnam War.
Upon completion of his service, he worked as a Marine Construction Pile Driver for 35 years in five states. His most notable accomplishments are the Hood Canal Floating bridge refurbishment, Seattle’s new Lumen Field Stadium, the Columbia River Grand Coulee Dam, and Wanapum Dam refurbishment. Chances are if you drive, you’ve driven over a bridge he worked on.
Joe enjoyed spending time with family and friends while golfing, fishing, hunting, boating, and going to the cabin in Montana.
The Funeral service is being held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA on May 5th, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Following the service, a celebration of life reception will be held at the VFW Post 1435 on South David Street, Spokane Valley Washington.
