Age 24
It is with great sadness, tempered with joy, that our beloved Josiah went to be with his Maker early Monday morning, August, 31st. Sadness, that we will all miss him terribly…Joy, that his two year battle with cancer is over. At last suffering of this life is forgotten for he now rests in the loving arms of Jesus. Josiah was an inspiration to his parents, brother, four sisters, grandparents, and many friends. Born and raised here in Spokane, he loved our beautiful area, and enjoyed exploring the woods in his army jeep, camping, shooting, fly-fishing, and anything outdoors. Active in the family business at an early age, he later turned his love for the sport of paintball into managing a local paintball field & shop. He also participated, both recreational and professional, in practically every paintball tournament or game venue in the entire northwest, and was known as levelheaded game winning player. More important, Josiah was a dedicated follower of Christ, who practiced what he preached, and was always willing to “give an answer to every man” of his hope & faith in God, and in the Bible that guided his life. Ever eager to help others, his big caring heart reached out to all people, especially the social outcasts that the rest of us might have dismissed as losers…these were the people to whom he patiently extended friendship. A man of character and extremely responsible, with wisdom, in spite of his few years, that was admired by everyone. With his quick wit and good humor, knowing him was a true blessing. One could not ask for a better son, brother, and friend. He is to be laid to rest next to his family in the Viola Cemetery, Viola, ID on September 12, 2015 at 11:00am. Though he’s gone from our presence now, we know that it’s only for a little while. Soon we will see him again, and will join him in the special place God has prepared for those who trust Him. A Memorial Service will be scheduled later.
