

Joyce graduated from EWU in 1968 in Teaching and worked at Spokane School District 81 from 1969 to 1993.
In 1949, Joyce married George Marshall. They had 3 children together. David R. Marshall, Jim A. Marshall and Judy Anglesey.
Joyce was involved with City Gate, Vanessa Behan, all church organizations and in the mid '70's was involved with the Democratic Party. She did a lot of traveling to foreign countries.
In the years 1984, '85 and '86 was spent in Nishinomiya, Japan as an English consultant/Teacher to the Nishinomiya Public Schools. She also went to India in 1990. She went to teach, lecture, observe and instruct in private schools, public schools and University. While in Japan she accomplished a long lost goal. One of her duties was to teach English to a senior class. Her students and herself received their high school diplomas together in the spring of 1985. As Joyce worded it (Better late than never)! Marriage and children can do that.
Joyce's love of God strengthened her and moved her to be generous and loving to those around her. Joyce is survived by son David Marshall (Lisa), son Jim Marshall (Patty) and daughter Judy Anglesey (Ed). Grandchildren: Jim R. Marshall, Joseph Marshall (Sandy), Jaki Bishop (Marshall)(Robert), Nicole Roulston (Marshall)(Andy), Emily Mriglot (Anglesey)(Ryan), Charles Anglesey and Sam Anglesey. Great Grandchild, Miles Bishop.
A memorial service for Joyce will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
