Judith Mae McDonald

The world was graced with the beautiful soul of Judi on May 22, 1943, in Deer Lodge, Montana. She lived a life centered on family, love, resilience, and cherished memories made with those closest to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ida Nielsen; her brother, Dale Nielsen; her first husband, Jack Ray; and her second husband, Ranald McDonald.

Judi is survived by her brother Gordon Nielsen and her sister Carol Nielsen.

Judi's legacy lives on through her children: David Ray (Cari), Melanie Ray, Zack Ray (Tammy) & Tim Ray.

She was a proud grandmother to Krystal Ray, Lynette Renfro (Charles), Destiny Ray (Eric), Haley Navarro (Nick), Bethany Ray, Caitlyn Ray, Bain Ray (Syerra), and Keely Ray. She was also blessed with 3 great-grandchildren Charles "Chip" Renfro, Hardyn Ray, and Cathryn "Cat" Renfro, who brought immense joy to her life. She also has another great grandchild on the way that she would have loved just as much.

Judi will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strength through life's challenges, and the kindness she shared with those around her. Her greatest pride was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in the many memories they shared and in the lasting impact she made on generations of loved ones.

Judi had a remarkable gift for gardening, and she tended her flowers with the same love, patience, and devotion that she poured into her family. Her gardens were a reflection of her spirit—vibrant, beautiful, and full of life. She found joy in nurturing every flower she planted, and the breathtaking yard and gardens she created were admired by all who visited. Just as her flowers blossomed under her care, so too did her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The beauty she cultivated, both in her gardens and in the lives of those she loved, will continue to bloom in the hearts and memories of her family for generations to come.

A celebration of Judi's life will be held on August 15th at 2:30 pm at the Opportunity Presbyterian Church (202 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA.) The family appreciates the thoughts, prayers, and support of all who mourn her passing.
