Kathy was born to Amlen (Pat) and Elvina Munk on March 17, 1937 and passed on May 28, 2024, after suffering many years with Alzheimers, an illness that stole her mind many years before it stole her body.
Mom always regretted retiring, she had worked all her life. She helped in the greenhouse, delivered newspapers, worked as a sales clerk, waitress, and with those with special needs. In December 1978 she started sorting mail on nightshift for the USPS. She retired as a window clerk at the Opportunity Post Office April 30, 2001.
Mom took several cruises; Alaska, Panama Canal, and one that included New Zealand which she always wished to return to. Also several vacations; The Old Stone House in Sault St. Marie Canada, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, and Hawaii. Mom enjoyed traveling. Her hobbies were bowling and ceramics. She made beautiful ceramic gifts that are forever treasured.
In 2003, as part of Spokane Valley Nazarene Church (SVNC) Working Mission group she went to England which she enjoyed. In 2007 she again went on another Working Mission to Argentina. She donated money so others could also go on missions whether her church or another church.
Mom was a 60 year member of The Rebecca Lodge.
Kathy is survived by her children Nancy Stong (husband Will), son Chad, and Linda Bradley. Her grandchildren are Amy Thompson (Colter Keever), Lisa Curtis (Tony), Jenniffer Haney (Cameron), Katherine Thompson, Danielle Lane-Thompson (Chris) Rachael Whitney (Matthew), Laura Rammos (Adan),Teri Cairns (Rod Kramer).
