Larry (or “Pa” to close family and friends), was born to Merle and Celestine Berges, on December 27th, 1946, in Wallace, Idaho. The family relocated to Spokane when he was 4. Larry went on to graduate from EVHS and then went straight into the army, where he spent 4 years, with a stint in Vietnam. After proudly serving his country, Larry moved back to Spokane Valley, where he resided until his passing.
At the age of 62, Larry retired as a warehouse manager for Western Soap/Amsan. He was an avid baseball fan (specifically the Dodgers), as well as a huge Nascar fan (specifically Jeff Gordon). He also played softball until the age of 65. Larry loved to travel in the motorhome, and was the “Comeback King.” He had jokes for days.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon Berges; daughter, Angie Parker; stepsons, James Cox and wife Wendy Cox, Dan Jenecke and wife Alisha Jenecke; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Jim and Ron Berges; sister, Dee Steele; and stepdaughter, Lisa Broyles.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Pa’s name to Hospice House of Spokane.
