Age 92
Leona Isaak, a Spokane Valley resident, passed away June 16, 2016 at her home. Leona was born November 24, 1923 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Rueben and Helen Fassett. She was the eldest of a large family. Leona served in the U.S. Army as a WAC during WWII. It was in San Francisco, CA in 1945 that she met and married Emil E. Isaak, a decorated WWII veteran and prisoner of war.
After living in St. Maries, Idaho for a short period of time, Lee and Emil moved to Spokane, WA where they raised their three children. She held various jobs throughout her life ending in retirement from Key Tronic Corporation in the Spokane Valley.
She had the gift of laughter, a free spirit and a kind and generous heart which drew family, friends and strangers to her. She loved gardening and fishing. A light has gone out in the Spokane Valley, but her luminescence will remain forever in our hearts.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Emil, on December 28, 2005. She is survived by their three children, Donna Isaak, Larry Isaak, and Merilee Schantz; four grandchildren, Scott Isaak, Kevin Russell, Heather Schantz and Brandon Schantz; and eight great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is scheduled Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA
