Loren Gregory “Greg” Woehrle, 76, went to his heavenly home on Monday, October 30, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, Navy veteran and Christian. Greg is survived by his wife Patti, three children, Craig Woehrle (Bonnie), Megan Barnwell (Robert) and Colin Woehrle as well as four grandchildren, Jack, Gracie, Gavin and Kai. Greg was born and raised in Newman Lake on June 9, 1947 on his family’s farm. It was on this land, established by his grandparents, where he found his love for fixing things and a keen understanding of how things worked. He excelled as a skilled heavy equipment operator and used his talents to tackle just about any task, from fixing cars and farm equipment to major home improvement projects. He loved classic and fast cars, purchasing a ’67 Corvette Stingray in his 20s (which he later had to sell because he could no longer afford the speeding tickets).
Greg was a large, hardworking man with a gentle and kind soul; his dedication to his family was inspiring. He was a humble caretaker to his parents in their later years, as well as several aunts and cousins, visiting them for hours, taking them to doctor’s appointments and including them in all holiday and family events, never once being asked to do so. He gave selflessly to all he knew and never accepted anything in return. He loved music, especially blues, and could play just about any tune by ear on his Fender Stratocaster. Though a quiet and thoughtful man, he had a boisterous laugh that was infectious. He will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov 4th at 11:00AM Lakes Community Church, 6703 N. Idaho Road, Newman Lake, WA 99025. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity in Greg’s name.
