Marley will forever have a special place in our hearts! My favorite memory with her is our “girls” weekend in Port A! 

Beautiful, happy, smart, strong, confident, resilient, outgoing, fun, funny, unforgettable and OH SO LOVED! You are forever in our hearts precious Marley Jo. 🌈 

Although we only met once I felt like I knew you. The way you’re moms face would light up when she talked about you was such a gift to witness. You fought hard❤️
Ashley, I love you. There are no words for the true sorrow of losing you’re best friend. Praying for you and the family as you grieve. 



We have never met in person, but I first heard of Marley and her story from Sunshine Cottage School. I got to know Marley from her mom's page, her photos and sketches, and from all the stories other people have been telling. There was so much courage, strength, and joy about her, so much love in her life. My heart hurts for your loss, and there are probably no words that make sense right now,  but I hope someday you'll find some comfort.  
I know I'll be telling about Marley and her life story to my girl one day, as in what it means to be brave, and kind, and a fighter.  Because, she sure is one.

       Marley and I used to be great friends. She was an amazing fearless person who cares so much about her friends. I remember 2 years ago I invited her to my birthday party and she was talking about how happy and excited she was to get her transplant, sadly it didn't go as planned. Marley's laugh and smile were contagious, she would always put a smile on everyone's faces. I would do anything to go back and say the goodbyes that I never got to say.  Rest in Peace, Marley Jo Nance.

This is Tatiana , Anna’s mom. We don’t know you personally but we had a connection since Anna is 12 and also had GATA2. We have prayed so hard for Marley and your family, we have no words , I wish I knew what to say or how to take your pain away , but I pray for inexplainable peace for you all. I know what it is to go through a transplant ... Anna just had a second one but I can’t imagine what you are going through , please know we care so very much and I’m here for you anytime , All our Love and prayers

My memories of Marley are of her kindness and her love for animals. She was very gentle and Loved her dog Zelda so much. What a lucky dog to be picked out by Marley at the pound, and what a great mother Ashley is to see how much they needed each other. But I must say my Fondest Memories of Marley are having conversations with her. She was so eager to learn new things and more importantly to share them with others. She would say "Did you know?", and then she would rattling off some tidbit or fact about a topic she was interested in. I learned so much during those conversations about how amazing this little girl was.  She was so kind and thoughtful, smart and sensitive. Over the past five and a half months I have also learned about her bravery courage and strength!  She will continue to inspire me each day as I remember her, and until we meet again.

MarleyJo, and I share the same Birthday.  She graced us with her presence on April 5th.  I remember that day so vividly as we were  planning to celebrate her cousin Carsons 1st Birthday, also on April 5th.   Such an exciting day!  She was a beautiful baby and I remember her adorable feet and how Ashley would rub them as she nursed.  I was fortunate to watch Marley learn and grow into a strong and determined young lady and look forward to the day when we will see each other again. 
Thank you for enriching my life Sweet girl.  I miss you everyday.

I remember the fortune of being trusted to watch Marley for an evening upon Ashley’s move to Texas. I knew it was a big deal and felt so honored. It was the start of a beautiful friendship for our family and I will forever treasure our memories together. Marley’s enthusiasm was contagious.  She was eager to learn and explore.  Her smile could move mountains. And, Marley loved hard.  The love she gave her mom was intense and beyond measure. Our hearts are hurting for your loss.  I pray Ashley and Joe find comfort in the outpour of love and are kind to themselves for the courage they maintained  through this journey, especially these past few months. Ashley you and Marley came into our lives when we needed you. Now it’s our turn to help you. I’m here whenever you need a chat. Marley holds a special place in our hearts. She had such a light about her, I can’t express into words how devastated we are for you and your family. I know you will always feel her love around you. Please take care of yourself. 

Marley--a beautiful young lady with an awesome smile and so much courage!  It is our sincere prayer that all of you will be comforted and sustained during this difficult time.  Our favorite thought at a time like this is:  "You can cry because she is gone or smile because she has lived."  Some crying is indeed needed, but we recommend mostly smiling.   Dwell on your fond memories of her and your time with her.

Ashley, Chris, Makayla I know that there are no words but know that I love you guys and I cherish the memories of Marley and the honor of sharing a part of her life. Be good to yourselves. 


I never had the pleasure of meeting sweet Marley in person, but I shared a connection with her mom starting at the beginning of their decision to transplant Marley. We both have Gata2. She fought incredibly hard. I have no words to truly express my condolences for Ashley and her family. I pray the Nance family will find peace and comfort in knowing Marley is now a precious angel watching over them until they met again one day.  

I love you, Marley. You stole my heart with your blonde, curly locks and precious smile. When I think of you, that is what I see. I sure have loved watching you grow and become such a unique, beautiful, strong young lady.

Marley brought a little extra sparkle, excitment, and adventure every time she visited Utah! I could see the Endless Fatherly love that Joe had for her, Bri prepare a room to make Marley feel like she had a home in Utah and loved her with all her heart, Emmett gleamed with joy to have a sibling to play with.   Getting to know Marley was a delight and her life story over the last 8 months has brought me to tears many times. I know there are no words that can express the pain that Ashley(I know you loved & fought with all you had for her)  Joe and Bri have felt by loosing her in this earthly relm. I pray that you will feel her angelic presence continue to  be with you ❤ throughout your life! 

Oh sweet Marley we love you so much. Please visit your mama often, I know how her heart is breaking. You are one in a million beautiful girl. We will  miss you every single day. ❤️ Erin, Ben, Alivia, Liam and Owen
