Age 105
Mary passed away October 26, 2018 at Rockwood Retirement (South Hill) Spokane, WA. She was born to George and Lottie (Shannor) Ainslie on February 8, 1913 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She moved to Spokane, WA in 1928 and attended Lewis & Clark High School, Whitman College, and the University of Washington. After college, Mary worked for the US Government in an administrative position in Washington, DC then returned to Spokane and worked for Pacific NW Bell.
In 1940, Mary married Wendell Hoesly. He passed away in 1969. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Eastern Star, Women’s College Association, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Her major priority was her family and she enjoyed hiking, golfing, bridge with friends, and traveling.
Mary is survived by: Daughter Barbara (Jerry) Walton, Son Richard Hoesly; Grandsons Jon Walton and Andy Walton, and two great grandchildren Teddy and Hattie Walton.
