Mickie was born July 9, 1938 in Almena, Michigan to Georgia Ashley (Miller) and Robert A. MacPherson. She moved to Spokane after graduating from Mattawan High School and went to work at the Garland Avenue Bakery which was co-owned by her Aunt Nellie Sexsmith (MacPherson). She married Maurice C. Wilhite on August 10, 1957.
Mickie always enjoyed working with people and had a long career in hospitality and sales. She was an entrepreneur who successfully ran her own businesses during the 70s and 80s and was a hard worker who was rarely idle. She enjoyed gardening, working on home improvement projects, playing cards and games with her kids and grandkids, and was an avid and formidable bowler. She never left the house without “putting on an eyebrow.”
Mickie will be dearly missed by her children, Mike Wilhite (Portland, OR), Mitch Wilhite (Spokane, WA), Mark Wilhite (Seattle, WA), Maurice Kelly Wilhite (Portland, OR), Kate Wilhite (Pullman, WA); daughters-in-law Donna Wilhite (Portland, OR) and Janine Wilhite (Seattle, WA); grandchildren Sara Wilhite, Jacob Wilhite, Alex Wilhite, and Anne Wilhite; great grandchild Luka Burchak, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert, Richard, and Thomas MacPherson, sister Arlyene (MacPherson) Cox, and nephew Jerry Cox.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HazenJaegerValley.com for the Wilhite family.
