Nellie was surrounded by her family and embraced with love when she passed away on October 25, 2011. She was born on April 10, 1926 to Henry and Ruth Good. She married Albert Auckerman in 1943 and together they raised six children. Nellie worked as a checker at Albertsons for 32-years and retired in 1991. She was fond of traveling and enjoyed many different hobbies during her life – bowling, snowmobiling and dancing. Her true passion, however, was golf; she absolutely loved the game and played as often as possible, well into her 80’s. Nellie was a true sports fan; she loved anything that was in the spirit of competition. She would stay up all night watching the Olympics and wouldn’t miss a Gonzaga Basketball game for anything. She was a dedicated fan of the Spokane Shock Arena Football team, was a season ticket holder and was very active in their ShockWave Booster Club. Her zest for life and extreme generosity were an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband (Albert), four children (Ron, Lynn, Mel and Dave) and four siblings (Paul,Dolly,Effie and Don). She is survived by her daughter Nancy and son Cal (Kathie), her sister Naomi (Herb) Raling, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitations will take place Sat & Sun (Oct 29 & 30) from 10 am to 4 pm at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Mon, Oct 31 at 2 pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow at Pines Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
