OBITUARY
Nellie M. Auckerman
April 10, 1926 – October 25, 2011
AUCKERMAN, Nellie M. (Age 85)
Nellie was surrounded by her family and embraced with love when she passed away on October 25, 2011. She was born on April 10, 1926 to Henry and Ruth Good. She married Albert Auckerman in 1943 and together they raised six children. Nellie worked as a checker at Albertsons for 32-years and retired in 1991. She was fond of traveling and enjoyed many different hobbies during her life – bowling, snowmobiling and dancing. Her true passion, however, was golf; she absolutely loved the game and played as often as possible, well into her 80’s. Nellie was a true sports fan; she loved anything that was in the spirit of competition. She would stay up all night watching the Olympics and wouldn’t miss a Gonzaga Basketball game for anything. She was a dedicated fan of the Spokane Shock Arena Football team, was a season ticket holder and was very active in their ShockWave Booster Club. Her zest for life and extreme generosity were an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband (Albert), four children (Ron, Lynn, Mel and Dave) and four siblings (Paul,Dolly,Effie and Don). She is survived by her daughter Nancy and son Cal (Kathie), her sister Naomi (Herb) Raling, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitations will take place Sat & Sun (Oct 29 & 30) from 10 am to 4 pm at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Mon, Oct 31 at 2 pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow at Pines Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G Komen Foundation.

Our thoughts are with Nance, Cal, and Naomi and their families at this time. On a lighter side...Somehow the Spokane Shock won't be the same next season without Nellie in the arena cheering them on.

Nancy, so sorry for your loss. If your character as a daughter is the result of hers as a Mother then her work here was done for sure!

Nancy,Cal and family. I am so sorry for the lose of your mother. Nellie will truly be missed by everyone. I will miss that smile and that laugh that I grew to love for so many year's when she was with my dad (Rob) my father loved her so much. I thank god that I have those wonderful memories of her and that she came into my life. I only wish that I would have went and visited her but at least we spoke on the phone. She is now in such a better place, were she can pick up where is left off with your dad, your brothers and your sister. And everyone else that she touched in in her journey here called life.
Love you all.

Nancy, Cal and all the family. I am so sorry for the lose of your mother. She was such a wonderful caring lady. I only wish that I would have went and visited here instead of talking on the phone. I loved her so much and will always remember the wonderful memories that I have of her those memories no one can take away. She made my father (Rob) so happy. Now she is with your father and they can pick up were they left off along with her son's and daughter and so many more that she touched with her smile and her laughter.

We loved Nellie and know that Nancy took the best care possible of her. They come from the same heart and that was easy to see...as well as in Stacy. I love this family and just want them to know that we are lucky to have shared time in this world with Nellie. Love always, Christina and David

Nancy, your Mom Nellis was one of the most AWESOME persons we have ever known. She was so sweet and always had a hug for all of her friends. Just watching her enthusiasm for Shock football was incredible. She loved life and was a fighter who never gave up hope. It was hard watching her struggle these past couple of years with health problems but now she will be at peace. She will be greatly missed but her memory will live on forever.

Nellie was a very very special lady. Billy and I met her when we were virtually children. We used to go out dancing with them and Bill's parents all the time. What a fun and wonderful loving couple. I know Al was waiting with open arms for his Lady and their children were there also to greet her and bring her home. Nancy and Cal were very special to Nellie, especially Nancy her daughter, friend, confidant and look alike. Nellie will be missed terribly, but her memory will continue with us the rest of our lives.
