

Orin was a kind and compassionate man who was known for his dedication to his work, his ability to truly listen, and his genuine care for others. He had a wide range of interests that included playing and watching football (Go Huskies!), horticulture, printing recipes, cooking, rocketry, participating in the Big Brother Organization, coin collecting, and working on his beloved 1964 GTO.
He was born in Vancouver, Washington, on September 28, 1952, to Major Ford Pierce and Helen Pierce. He grew up in Vancouver alongside his two younger sisters. He graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School and began his working career at Luepke Florist, where he discovered and developed his passion for flowers and horticulture. He also worked for many years at The Columbian newspaper.
Orin went on to build a long and dedicated career with National Color Graphics in Spokane, where he worked for 40 years as a prepress manager. His commitment to his work and the people he worked with was an important part of who he was. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication, knowledge, and willingness to get the job done.
Family was especially important to Orin. He cherished the time he spent with his daughter, Katee, and son-in-law, Jack, and his granddaughters, Jaylee and Aubree. He and Lynn took great joy in being grandparents, and the time they shared together created memories that will be treasured by his family for years to come.
Orin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynn Pierce; his son, Trevor Ford Pierce; his parents, Major Ford Pierce and Helen Pierce; and his sister, Altha Pierce. He carried the love and memories of those he lost throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Katee, and son-in-law, Jack Claros; his granddaughters, Jaylee and Aubree Claros; his sister, Chyrl Pierce, and sister-in-law, Sherron; his in-laws, Robert and Melanie Goeller and Garold and Kitty Shipley; and numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends who will remember him fondly.
