Age 87
Passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 15, 2015. She was raised by her father and paternal grandparents after her mother and baby sister were claimed by tuberculosis. She later moved to Deer Park where she graduated from high school.
After high school, Ramona worked at John W. Graham, a stationery store, where she met Neil. They were married on August 1, 1950.
She was an accomplished seamstress, a Central Valley School District PTA volunteer all through her kids’ elementary years, and volunteered in the Opportunity Presbyterian Church office for many years. She loved making needlepoint pictures, working jigsaw puzzles, and reading many books every year. Ramona also predicted NFL winners each week until her memory failed her. She enjoyed Major League Baseball on television. Until her dad and stepmom passed, she and Neil played cribbage with them most Saturday evenings for over twenty years.
Ramona is survived by her husband, Neil; her children Jerry (Shelley) Prescott, Julie (Gary) Parkert, and Peggy (Tim) Richards; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-children.
A special thank you to the staff at Colonial Court, especially Kasey and Israel “Izzy”. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
