Cox, Robert (98) Robert went home peacefully to be with Jesus and his wife Zella while at home surrounded by family. Born to Ethan and Edna Cox on July 29, 1919 in Wenatchee, WA. Bob graduated from Shelton High School in 1936. After high school he worked various jobs until he eventually went to work for Union Hardware and Metal in L.A., CA. He worked there from Oct., 1940 to June 1941 until he joined the US Navy where he served from 6/18/1941 to 10/22/1945. Bob served in the Pacific theater on the USS Saratoga and the USS Bataan where he reached the rank of Fire Controlman 1/C USNR. Upon completion of his Navy service he met Zella in 1945 and they married shortly after. Their 71 year marriage was blessed with five children. He worked numerous jobs which included heavy construction, bread delivery, milkman, insurance sales and furniture sales. Finally in the late 1960s he began selling real estate where he then became a broker and continued as a realtor for over 30 years. Bob was a very hard working, industrious individual and after real estate he purchased and maintained a coffee service business for a number of years. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and people. He was very active in his church, with his family and friends. He was amazing the way he cared for his invalid wife, Zella, for 6 years. The example of love he showed Zella will be a part of our memories as long as we live. Bob was proceeded in death by his wife Zella and is survived by – Nels (Bonnie) Cox, Marty (Carole) Cox, Rosella (Terry Smith), Kathy Cox and Bill (Chantal) Cox, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 23, 2018 at Valley Assembly of God Church 15618 E. Broadway Spokane Valley, WA.
