Passed away December 23, 2015, in Spokane, WA after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Spokane, to Bill and Nora Nikkola on August 14, 1971. Scott graduated from Central Valley High School and Eastern Washington University. He worked as a sales representative for a number of companies, most recently Festo. He is remembered as the “King of Unfinished Projects” but was always the first to lend a hand when friends needed help with their projects; and for his love of outdoor activities, particularly at Priest Lake.
Scott is survived by his wife of 21 years, Julie; parents Bill & Nora Nikkola; son Brad (Robin) Peterson; daughter Hailey Nikkola; siblings Billy (Cheryl) Nikkola, Eric (Sabrina) Nikkola, Jennell (Mike) McLaughlin, Steve (Molly) Hegenderfer; sister-in-law Cheryl Mauer; granddaughter McKenna Peterson; and nieces and nephews who knew Scott as “Uncle Shaggy”: Ben, Tim, Amanda, Connor, Riley, Nick, Norah, Griffin, Hope, and Lucy.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at Valley Event Center, 10514 E. Sprague, Spokane Valley, WA, Saturday, January 9, 2016, open house 4:00-7:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Ronald McDonald House of Spokane.
