Born May 3, 1938 in Falfurrias, Texas to Chester and Susie Smith. She walked into the arms of Jesus on December 5, 2012 after a brief hospital stay. Lorene was a long time resident of the Spokane Valley. She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Susie Smith, brother James Smith and sister Geneva Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Garvis Garrett, son Rick Garrett (Chris), daughter Karen Garrett, 2 grandsons (Nolan, Wesley), 3 granddaughters (Alyssa, Andrea, Danielle), one great granddaughter (Taylor). She is also survived by her brother Chester Smith, sister Evelyn Smith and sister Lou Grams.
A celebration of Lorene's life will be December 10th, 2012 at 10:00 am at Hazen & Jeager funeral Home in the Spokane Valley. Internment will be at Veteran's Memorial Cemetary.
