Born in Pittsburg, PA, Virginia moved to Chicago, IL at the age of four with her parents and older sister. She graduated from Parker Practice High School where she met her high school sweetheart and soon to be husband, Quentin J. Lagestee.
They had a beautiful marriage for 53 years until Quentin passed away in November, 1996. They traveled the world and enjoyed trailering through out many parts of the USA spending many winters in Arizona.
A member of the Opportunity Presbyterian Church since 1957, Virginia was also Worthy Matron at Victory Chapter of Eastern Star, a member of The Ladies of the Nile, Beta Sigma Phi sorority and numerous other organizations.
A talented woman with many hobbies, “Ginny” was an artist using many different mediums from making porcelain dolls to beautiful oil paintings. She was a wonderful seamstress as well. No matter what she was doing or making, her work was flawless.
Virginia is survived by her sister Miriam B. Fowler of Boulder, CO, two daughters Donna R. Moore and Carol D. Langford of Spokane Valley, three grandchildren Rick A. Schmidt of Post Falls, ID, Kimberly D. Breen of Nampa, ID and Brian G. Langford of Portland, OR, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all.
A visitation will be held today, Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Thornhill Valley Chapel. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 911 W. 5th Ave., Spokane, WA 99204.
