Benny had a deep love for his family and cherished the time they would spend together cooking, eating, joking and laughing with each other. He loved his kids and his grand babies, they were his pride and joy. Benny also loved to ask the family who was in charge of the family and he would always say he is in charge. His leadership and protections in the family will sorely be missed.
He loved football. Benny played football at Lewis and Clark high school, coached his son and loved watching football games.
He loved Versace shades and most likely you would never find him without his shades on.
He is survived by his mother and bonus dad Gloria and Richard Sanford of Spokane, WA. His daughters Kiara Johnson, Zaraih Whitsett and son Benny Johnson IV, stepson’s Zion Jones and Javaius Jones all of Spokane, WA. Granddaughters Akira Lawson and Khamiyah Hillard all of Spokane, WA. Also survived by his siblings Tavia Johnson of Spokane, WA and Brandie Flood of Seattle, WA. His Aunt Jerry Johnson of Spokane, WA., nephews LaDarius Johnson, Kwame Qadir and and Micah Lester all of Spokane and niece Robbi Lee of Seattle, WA. His cousins Steve Johnson, Shunn Johnson, Greg Hatter, Sevon Johnson, Donathan Willis and Teavon Johnson all of Spokane, WA. His Godson Shunn Robert Johnson and close friend Jada Lester both of Spokane, WA.
Benny is proceeded in death by his father Benny Lamar Evans Jr, his grandmother Ammer Gene Jordan, his grandfather Steve Lewis, his brother Ammar Lewis Johnson and his sister Sherrell Sanford.
A visitation for Benny will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 West Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home.
