

Age – 81
Betty Ann McCormick passed away on December 16, 2015, after succumbing to a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a most generous and kind person, born in Genesee, Idaho to Clayton and Nelly McLalley. She married her husband of 51 years Carroll McCormick in 1958. Soon after they both departed on a 5 year adventure as missionaries in Zimbabwe. Several years after returning to Spokane their sense of adventure was rekindled as her family headed off for two years in Palau where she and her husband taught at the Micronesian Occupational Center. She later worked at Whitworth University where she also earned a bachelor’s degree. After retiring, she and her husband entered into the Peace Corps for a two-year tour in Panama. Upon returning her seemingly boundless energy of was spent helping with the tree of sharing for many years. She was loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by sons: John and wife Pepe and Bob. Grandchildren, Andy, Jonathan, Jeremy, Becky, Haylee, Spencer Lil Peg, Brandon Olivia, Elaina. Great Grandchildren Mia, Chloe, Aaliyah. Sisters Elaine, Mary, Peach’e, Kathy. Brothers Ronny, Jerry. Proceeded in death by her son Bill, Husband Carroll. Brother Mickey. We would like to thank Peggy Smithgall for taking care of her the last 2 years. In addition, we want to thank Ruth Ann, and Nora from Hospice. They are truly kind people. We are having a reception January 3, 2016, at 1:00pm at Betty’s home at 817 S. Adams St, Spokane, WA.
