Beverly (Bev) peacefully entered into rest August 11, 2018.
Bev was born October 3, 1932 to Harvey and Maleta Michaels in Chewelah, WA. She attended Orchard Prairie Grade School and graduated from John R. Rogers High School. Bev loved dancing so while attending high school she participated as one of the original Silver Spurs dancers. During that time she forged a lifelong friendship with dancers Ruth and Larry Karlson. As long as her health permitted she continued to dance with them at local senior dances.
Bev’s life journey included highlights of volunteering as a 4-H leader, involvement with PTA and youth activities. She served as a missionary with New Tribes Mission (now known as Ethnos 360) alongside her husband George at both the language school located in Camdenton, MO and Colombia, South America. After working several years she retired from H&R Block. Her final ministry opportunity was helping behind the information booth at Mount Spokane Church.
Bev enjoyed country music, especially Roy Rogers, her collection of carousel horses and the beauty of hummingbirds. She loved horses and dogs and leaves behind her faithful friend Blu.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 35 years, George; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Paul Kenmoen, Dorothy and “Bud” McGhee; and her brother, Roger Michaels.
She is survived by her son, Michael Skala (Brenda) and daughter, Crystal Waggy (Mark); grandchildren with whom she was blessed, Ian Skala (Nikki), Trevor Skala, Dawn Marchant (Ryan), Annetta Bacon and Markeah Waggy; great grandchildren, Hailee, Andrew, Christopher, Remy, Jesse James, Elizabeth, Myles, and Cullen; sister-in-law, Mary Michaels; as well as extended family, Diana Skala, Josh Briscoe (Cheri), Mark Bacon (Donna), Lora, Keith and Kruz Soriano, Eric and his daughter Neveah Soriano.
