

Bruce Thompson, resident of Nine Mile Falls, unexpectedly passed away on October 31, 2011. Born April 17, 1943 in Yale, OK. Bruce spent his younger years as an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force. After the military he became a Firefighter and Paramedic for the Fullerton CA Fire Dept. from 1968-82. He then moved his family to Okanogan, WA and from 1982-94 owned and operated the Ponderosa Motor Lodge, a 25 unit motel and RV Park. Having the good sense to retire at the age of fifty, Bruce moved to Spokane, WA with his wife Janice. He actively lived life. He saved many lives and had numerous adventures and hobbies: Abalone diving, flat track racing, dune buggy trips to Baja, hunting, fishing, competition shooting, and Mountain Man Rendezvous. He was a skilled craftsmen, builder, and maker of many beautiful things. He was a steward of nature, loving all wildlife by feeding and providing habitat. He was the strongest of men with the gentlest of souls. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends. Bruce was preceded in death by mother, Allene Thompson and father, Bruce Thompson Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janice Thompson; daughter, Angela Gagne; two sons, Bruce Thompson III and Baran Thompson; granddaughters, Paris, Siera, Amiela and Onalee; three sisters, Betty Shartle, Billie Sinek and Barbara Gonzales, and many nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA on Monday, November 14 at 1:30 PM.
