Clifford Ray Olson

He was born May 13, 1927 in Troy, Idaho, the only son of Alice (Olson) Tylden. Ray served his country for 2 years in the US Navy near the end of WW2. He attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington where he met and eventually married Pauline Morfin in 1947. They had a long, meaningful, and rewarding 78 years of life together. Prior to relocating to Hayden, they made their home in Spokane Valley, Washington. Ray worked at the Carnation Company in Spokane for 38 years, where he made cottage cheese. Nobody made better cheese. He didn't stop working when he retired in 1992.

Ray and Pauline devoted their lives to serving Christ while attending Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene. After retirement they traveled the world doing missionary work for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, and also collected and delivered medical supplies for Hands of Hope. Ray visited and worked in 45 countries around the world. He was a kind and generous man, leaving lasting memories and loved by everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline and son Robert. Surviving sons are John Olson, Larry (Shirley) Olson, Barry (Suzanne) Olson, Richard Olson, and Jim (Lisa)Olson. A memorial service for Ray will be held at the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene at 3pm on September 19th, 2026.
