David John Christiansen

Dave was born on April 29, 1954 in Seattle, Washington. In August 1954, Gail W. and Arletta D. Christiansen adopted Dave. Two years later Gail and Arletta adopted Dave’s sister, Renee.

Dave was a wonderful son, brother, husband and friend. He had a smile and a joke on hand for any situation. Dave loved good jazz, good movies, motorcycles and playing Santa Claus each year for Chee Chee’s salon. His idea of a perfect evening was a good movie, glass of wine, crackers and gouda, and the company of his wife.

Dave met the love of his life, Jane, as a junior at Rogers High School. They dated for two years, at which time their paths separated for a while.

Over the years Dave and Jane kept in touch, finally getting back together in 2002. They later married on December 24, 2006, picking a date that Dave never would forget.

Dave celebrated every anniversary, even those counting the months together. He and Jane honored their marriage every day with travel, cruises, and long talks. He was a delightful stepfather and grandfather, Papa Dave. His brothers-and-sister-in-laws welcomed him to the family and loved him dearly. Dave’s barbeques were a great excuse for the family to get together and celebrate.

Dave passed away after a short illness on May 15, 2015. He is survived by his wife Jane, stepdaughters Heather and Katy, grandchildren Julien and Charlotte, sister Renee, daughter Candace, and son Randy.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2015, 2:00 p.m. in the Ball and Dodd Chapel, 5100 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA 99205.
