I had the honor of working with Dave for over 28 years at AJS. In that time I saw our business grow by leaps and bounds. Much of this growth was due to sales people like Dave. He was certainly a people person and his customers trusted him like no other. I had always said if I was an independent automotive jobber store owner that purchased from AJS, Dave would have been the only salesman I would want. He just knew how to take care of customers. He will be missed.

Nancy, Stephanie and Dave-
I was saddened to hear about the sudden loss of your husband and father. I remember him as a very caring man who loved each of you very much. I know he will be missed.

David married my best friend and was a wonderful friend, helpmate and husband to her.  I always looked forward to my e-mail to see what funny & weird things he would send me.  David had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know.  He will be missed, but he is at rest.

I remember Dave from First Baptist/Hillyard Baptist days in the '60s. My sympathy to the family in the difficult time.  May God grant you peace, knowing that we do not grieve as others may grieve, for we have the knowledge and assurance of life eternal with our Saviour, Christ Jesus.

Dave Slater was the consumate professional who assisted us in every endeavor to make our business successful.  By the time I met Dave, he was very seasoned and he understoood the dynamics of the automotive industry from the customer through the supply chain which included all the components of distribution.

I know Dave was looking forward to his retirement and I am saddened to hear he did not have more time with his wife and family.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to all of you and I certainly wish you the very best during this difficult time.  Dave was a wonderful man and I want you to know I appreciate having had the chance to work with Dave and he has been missed since the moment he retired.
