Dean LeRoy Kennedy fell asleep in "his chair" one last time and woke up in Heaven. This is a reality assured to him by his life changing decision to follow Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Dean was the oldest son of Elmer and Evelyn Kennedy along with his siblings Sharon Mitchell, Eileen Lamm and Garry Kennedy. Dean married Dorothy Deneke in 1964. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his daughter Mona Bak (Mike), son Darrin Kennedy (Pamela). Dean's grandchildren include Alyssa, Jared (Taylor), Kelsie (Chris), Brittany, Caleb, and Joshua. He was preceded in death by Elmer, Evelyn, and Sharon. Dean was born in Colville, WA and raised in Bellingham WA where he graduated from Meridian High School in 1962. He worked in his Dad's shake mill during his high school years, then moved to Spokane, WA and worked for Ralston Purina for 46 years. His priorities were God, family, and the church. For over 20 years he was involved in the Royal Ranger program (like Boy Scouts) where he was a mentor and role model for boys and young men in Godly living and outdoor camping skills. Many would come back later as young men and tell him what that time meant to them. A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Monte LeLaCheur at Turning Point Open Bible Church, N. 11911 Division, Spokane WA 99218 on Saturday, September 22nd, at 11a.m. Donations in Dean's memory may be made to Turning Point Open Bible or the Spokane Section of Royal Rangers scholarship fund.
