

Born to Ellen and Ott Dixon on January 31, 1921, in Dayton, Washington. Went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 7, 2013. He graduated from Endicott High School in 1938.
Always a hard worker, he began his career as a cowboy in Sprague and Winona, Washington, a farmer in Lamont, Washington, and Buckeye, Arizona, and then became a steam plant operator at Inland Empire Paper Company in Millwood, Washington, from 1955 until his retirement in 1986. After retirement he served a short-term missionary building a church building in Linda-a-Velha, Portugal; and then enjoyed being a snowbird for about 15 years. Don married Ellen Rose Robertson on June 5, 1944, in Dayton, Washington.
He is survived by Ellen, his wife of 69 years; his children Richard (Ethel), Edward, Elaine (Bill) Baker, John (Maura), and David; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister, and one grandson.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe, Spokane, WA 99201. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at New Hope Bible Church, 1445 N. Argonne Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99212. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Shepherds Ministries, 1805 15th Avenue, Union Grove, WI 53182-1597, Ph: 262-878-5620 in Don’s name.
